Reptiles
Gekkonidae
Hemidactylus OKEN, 1817 is one of the species rich genera of its family. This genus is ubiquitous. The distinction among the species within Hemidactylus using
superficial features is taxonomically difficult due to the considerable variation in the range of external characters. Hemidactylus is characterized by digits with
dilated pads at their base, lamellae on ventral side of pads divided longitudinally; distal phalanges free. All digits clawed. Pupil vertical. There are at least 15
taxa of Hemidactylus recorded in Arabia.
